26c. Ash-Shuara (101 to 150)
Nor any loving friend ., Oh , that we had another turn ( on earth ) , that we might , Lo! herein is indeed a portent , yet most of them are not …
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ (101)
Wala sadeeqin hameemin
Nor any loving friend .
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (102)
Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoona mina almumineena
Oh , that we had another turn ( on earth ) , that we might be of the believers!
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (103)
Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Lo! herein is indeed a portent , yet most of them are not believers!
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ (104)
Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And lo , thy Lord! He is Indeed the Mighty , the Merciful .
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (105)
Kaththabat qawmu noohin almursaleena
Noah ' s folk denied the messengers ( of Allah ) ,
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ (106)
Ith qala lahum akhoohum noohun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Noah said unto them : Will ye not ward off ( evil ) ?
إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ (107)
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you ,
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (108)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So keep your duty to Allah , and obey me .
وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (109)
Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I ask of you no wage therefor ; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds .
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (110)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So keep your duty to Allah , and obey me .
۞ قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الْأَرْذَلُونَ (111)
Qaloo anuminu laka waittabaAAaka alarthaloona
They said : Shall we put faith in thee , when the lowest ( of the people ) follow thee?
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِي بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (112)
Qala wama AAilmee bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
He said : And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing ( in the past ) ?
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ (113)
In hisabuhum illa AAala rabbee law tashAAuroona
Lo! their reckoning is my Lord ' s concern , if ye but knew ;
وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (114)
Wama ana bitaridi almumineena
And I am not ( here ) to repulse believers .
إِنْ أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ (115)
In ana illa natheerun mubeenun
I am only a plain warner .
قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُومِينَ (116)
Qaloo lain lam tantahi ya noohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeena
They said : If thou cease not , O Noah , thou wilt surely be among those stoned ( to death ) .
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ (117)
Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththabooni
He said : My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me .
فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (118)
Faiftah baynee wabaynahum fathan wanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almumineena
Therefor judge Thou between us , a ( conclusive ) judgment , and save me and those believers who are with me .
فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ (119)
Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki almashhooni
And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship .
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ (120)
Thumma aghraqna baAAdu albaqeena
Then afterward We drowned the others .
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (121)

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (123)
Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena
( The tribe of ) Aad denied the messengers ( of Allah ) ,
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ (124)
Ith qala lahum akhoohum hoodun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Hud said unto them : Will ye not ward off ( evil ) ?
إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ (125)
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun

فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (126)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ (128)
Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona
Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight?
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ (129)
Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona
And seek ye out strongholds , that haply ye may last for ever?
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ (130)
Waitha batashtum batashtum jabbareena
And if ye seize by force , seize ye as tyrants?
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (131)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
Rather keep your duty to Allah , and obey me .
وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ (132)
Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bima taAAlamoona
Keep your duty toward Him who hath aided you with ( the good things ) that ye know ,
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ (133)
Amaddakum bianAAamin wabaneena
Hath aided you with cattle and sons .
وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ (134)
Wajannatin waAAuyoonin
And gardens and watersprings .
إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ (135)
Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day .
قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ (136)
Qaloo sawaon AAalayna awaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena
They said : It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach ;
إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (137)
In hatha illa khuluqu alawwaleena
This is but a fable of the men of old ,
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ (138)
Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena
And we shall not be doomed .
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (139)
Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
And they denied him ; therefor We destroyed them . Lo! herein is indeed a portent , yet most of them are not believers .
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ (140)
Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And lo! thy Lord , He is indeed the Mighty , the Merciful .
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (141)
Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleena
( The tribe of ) Thamud denied the messengers ( of Allah )
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ (142)
Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Salih said unto them : Will ye not ward off ( evil ) ?
إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ (143)
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you ,
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (144)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me .

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ (146)
Atutrakoona fee ma hahuna amineena
Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us ,
فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ (147)
Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
In gardens and watersprings
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ (148)
WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuha hadeemun
And tilled fields and heavy sheathed palm trees ,
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ (149)
Watanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan fariheena
Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain , being skilful?
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (150)
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me ,
