तत काननं पराप्य नरेन्द्रपुत्राः; सुखॊचिता वासम उपेत्य कृच्छ्रम
विजह्रुर इन्द्र परतिमाः शिवेषु; सरस्वती शालवनेषु तेषु
करम खरी कर मोह थल अंक चराचर जाल|
हनत गुनत गनि गुनि हनत जगत ज्योतिषी काल||
एक समय की बात है| एक तालाब के किनारे एक सारस रहता था| तालाब में बहुत सारी मछलियां थी| सारस रोज भरपेट मछलियां खाता|

आदिर गुणानां सर्वेषां परथमः सर्ग उच्यते
“Rama said, ‘O damsel, in the very sight of all these persons, I havefought according to the best of my power and displayed my prowess! Byusing even the very best of weapons I have not been able to obtain anyadvantage over Bhishma, that foremost of all wielders of weapons!
