“Vaisampayana said, ‘Bhima, beholding Hidimva following them, addressedher, saying, ‘Rakshasas revenge themselves on their enemies by adoptingdeceptions that are incapable of being penetrated. Therefore, O Hidimva,go thou the way on which thy brother hath gone.’
राजा विराट के पुत्र का नाम उत्तर था| वह स्वभाव से बड़ा दंभी, सदा अपने पराक्रम का बखान करने वाला था| पांडव अपने अज्ञातवास का समय विराट के यहां व्यतीत कर रहे थे, इसलिए कोई भी इस भय से कि कहीं उनके सही रूप का पता न चल जाए, उसकी बात कोई नहीं काटते थे|
“Dhritarashtra said, ‘O Sanjaya, I envy those gifted with sight, who willbehold before them that Vasudeva whose body endued with great beautyshineth with effulgence, illuminating the cardinal and subsidiary pointsof the compass;
Vaisampayana said, “When that foremost of monkeys had gone away, Bhima,the best of strong men, began to range the huge Gandhamadana along thatpath.
एक गाँव के पास एक खेत में सारस पक्षी का एक जोड़ा रहता था| वहीं उनके अंडे थे| अंडे बढ़े और समय पर उनसे बच्चे निकले| लेकिन बच्चों के बड़े होकर उड़ने योग्य होने से पहले ही खेत की फसल पक गयी| सारस बड़ी चिंता में पड़े|
Janamejaya said, “O thou of ascetic wealth! when the sons of Pandu andthe Vrishnis reached the holy spot Prabhasa, what did they do and whatconversation was held there by them, for all of them were of mightysouls, proficient in all the branches of science and both the Vrishnisand the sons of Pandu held one another in friendly estimation.”

शरुत्वा तु तं महाशब्दं पाण्डूनां पुत्रगृद्धिनाम
चारैः परवेदिते तत्र समुत्थाय जयद्रथः
“Vaisampayana said, ‘Thus waged that battle, O chief of the Bharatas, forthree days between Arjuna and that prince like the encounter between himof a hundred sacrifices and Vritra.
फौजिया की काफी उम्र हो गई थी और वह इस दुनिया में अकेली थी| उम्र के इस दौर में पहुंचकर उसे हज पर जाने की इच्छा हुई| अत: उसने अपने सभी गहने हजार मोहरों के दाम बेच दिए| ढाई सौ मोहरें उसने खर्च के लिए रखकर शेष साढ़े सात सौ मोहरों को एक थैली में अच्छी तरह से बन्द कर दिया तथा उसे लाख से सील कर दिया|
