“Dhritarashtra said, ‘Consider, O Duryodhana, O dear son, what I tellthee. Like an ignorant traveller thou thinkest, the wrong path to be theright one, since thou art desirous of robbing the energy of the five sonsof Pandu, who are even as the five elements of the universe in theirsubtle form upholding all mobile and immobile things.
“Vaisampayana said, ‘Seeing the Pandavas living there cheerfully andwithout suspicion for a full year, Purochana became exceedingly glad. Andbeholding Purochana so very glad, Yudhishthira, the virtuous son ofKunti, addressing Bhima and Arjuna and the twins (Nakula and Sahadeva)said, ‘The cruel-hearted wretch hath been well-deceived.
पांडव वनवास का जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे थे| भगवान व्यास की प्रेरणा से अर्जुन अपने भाइयों की आज्ञा लेकर तपस्या करने गए| तप करके उन्होंने भगवान शंकर को प्रसन्न किया, आशुतोष ने उन्हें अपना पाशुपतास्त्र प्रदान किया| इसके अनंतर देवराज इंद्र अपने रथ में बैठाकर अर्जुन को स्वर्गलोक ले गए| इंद्र तथा अन्य लोकपालों ने भी अपने दिव्यास्त्र अर्जुन को दिए|
Vaisampayana continued, “On that Rakshasa having been slain, that lord,the royal son of Kunti, returned to the hermitage of Narayana and beganto dwell there.
देवी लक्ष्मी जी को धन, समृद्धि और वैभव की देवी माना जाता है। ऐसी मान्यता है कि लक्ष्मी जी की नित्य पूजा करने से मनुष्य के जीवन में कभी दरिद्रता नहीं आती है। लक्ष्मी जी की पूजा में कई मंत्रों का प्रयोग होता है। माता की आराधना में चालीसा का भी विशेष महत्व है।
एक गाँव में एक धनी मनुष्य रहता था| उसका नाम भैरोमल था| भैरोमल के पास बहुत खेत थे| उसने बहुत-से नौकर और मजदूर रख छोड़े थे| भैरोमल बहुत सुस्त और आलसी था| वह कभी अपने खेतों को देखने नहीं जाता था| अपने मजदूर और नौकरों को भेजकर ही वह काम कराता था|
“Lomasa said, ‘When the god who had performed a hundred sacrifices(Indra) beheld the demon Mada of a frightful mien, coming towards himwith open mouth, his intention being to devour him, and looking like thegod of death himself, while his own arms remained paralysed, he throughfear repeatedly licked the corners of his mouth.
“Vaisampayana said, ‘When the Brahma-weapon was withdrawn by Krishna, atthat time, the laying-in room was illumined by thy father with hisenergy.
राजदरबार के एक सेवक से कुछ लापरवाही हो गई, जिसे देखकर बादशाह अकबर बिगड़ गए और उसे आदेश दिया-“जाओ बाजार से एक सेर चूना लेकर आओ और उसे मेरे सामने खाओ|”
