“Narada said, ‘Seeing Galava, Vinata’s son smilingly addressed him,saying, ‘By good luck it is, O Brahmana, that I behold thee successful.’Galava, however, hearing the words spoken by Garuda informed him that afourth part of the task was still un-finished.’
“Sanjaya said, ‘Kunti’s son, Dhananjaya, of inconceivable prowessthinking of how to accomplish his vow, recollected the mantras (given tohim by Vyasa).
“Vaisampayana said, ‘After Drona had ceased, Vidura spoke, saying, ‘Omonarch, thy friends without doubt, are saying unto thee what is for thygood. But as thou art unwilling to listen to what they say, their wordsscarcely find a place in thy ears.
Vaisampayana said, “Hearing these words of his brothers as also ofKrishna, all of whom were anxious on account of Dhananjaya, kingYudhishthira, the just, became melancholy.
“Uma said, ‘By what disposition, what conduct, what acts, and what gifts,does a man succeed in attaining to Heaven?’
संपदा देवी की कथा
लोगों के मन में एक प्रश्न रहता है कि जिस होलिका ने प्रहलाद जैसे प्रभु भक्त को जलाने का प्रयत्न किया, उसका हजारों वर्षों से हम पूजन किसलिए करते हैं? होलिका-पूजन के पीछे एक बात है। जिस दिन होलिका प्रहलाद को लेकर अग्नि में बैठने वाली थी, उस दिन नगर के सभी लोगों ने घर-घर में अग्नि प्रज्वलित कर प्रहलाद की रक्षा करने के लिए अग्निदेव से प्रार्थना की थी। लोकहृदय को प्रहलाद ने कैसे जीत लिया था, यह बात इस घटना में प्रतिबिम्बित होती है।
