चेदिराजकुले जातस तर्यक्ष एष चतुर्भुजः
रासभाराव सदृशं रुराव च ननाद च
“The mother said, ‘Into whatever calamity a king may fail, he should notstill betray it. Beholding the king afflicted with fright, the wholekingdom, the army, the counsellors, all yield to fear, and all thesubjects become disunited.
“Dhritarashtra said, ‘After that shafts of Drona had been cut off andDhrishtadyumna thus rescued, O Sanjaya, by Yuyudhana, that foremost oneof the Vrishni race, what did that great bowman, that foremost of allwielders of weapons, viz.,
“Vrihadaswa continued, ‘Having destroyed that hunter Damayanti of eyeslike lotus leaves, went onwards through that fearful and solitary forestringing with the chirp of crickets.
“Vaisampayana said, ‘The Pandavas, after they had taken up their abode atIndraprastha at the command of Dhritarashtra and Bhishma began to bringother kings under their sway. All the subjects (of the kingdom) livedmost happily depending upon Yudhishthira the just, like a soul livinghappily depending upon a body blest with auspicious marks and piousdeeds.
एक घोबी था| उसके पास एक घोड़ा और एक गधा था| एक दिन वह दोनों को बाज़ार लेकर जा रहा था| उस दिन धूप बहुत तेज़ थी| घोबी ने गधे की पीठ पर कपड़ों के बड़े-बड़े गट्ठर लाद रखे थे, जबकि घोड़े की पीठ पर कुछ नही था|
“Vayu said, ‘I shall recite some duties the observance of which isfraught with happiness to mankind. Do ye listen also with concentratedattention to certain transgressions with the secret causes upon whichthey depend.
