Then lo! ye , the erring , the deniers , Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum, And will fill your bellies therewith ;, And thereon ye will drink of boiling water ,…

56.51

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ (51)

Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona

Then lo! ye , the erring , the deniers ,

56.52

لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ (52)

Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin

Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum

56.53

فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ (53)

Famalioona minha albutoona

And will fill your bellies therewith ;

56.54

فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ (54)

Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi

And thereon ye will drink of boiling water ,

56.55

فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ (55)

Fashariboona shurba alheemi

Drinking even as the camel drinketh .

56.56

هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ (56)

Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni

This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment

56.57

نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ (57)

Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona

We created you . Will ye then admit the truth?

56.58

أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ (58)

Afaraaytum ma tumnoona

Have ye seen that which ye emit?

56.59

أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ (59)

Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona

Do ye create it or are We the creator?

56.60

نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ (60)

Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena

We mete out death among you , and We are not to 
be outrun ,

56.61

عَلَىٰ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ (61)

AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoona

That We may transfigure you and make you what 
ye know not .

56.62

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (62)

Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroona

And verily ye know the first creation . Why , then , do 
ye not reflect?

56.63

أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ (63)

Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona

Have ye seen that which ye cultivate?

56.64

أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ (64)

Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona

Is it ye who foster it , or are We the Fosterer?

56.65

لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ (65)

Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona

If We willed , We verily could make it chaff , then 
would ye cease not to exclaim :

56.66

إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ (66)

Inna lamughramoona

Lo! we are laden with debt!

56.67

بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ (67)

Bal nahnu mahroomoona

Nay , but we are deprived!

56.68

أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ (68)

Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona

Have ye observed the water which ye drink?

56.69

أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ (69)

Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona

Is it ye who shed it from the rain cloud , or are We 
the shedder?

56.70

لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ (70)

Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona

If We willed We verily could make it bitter . why , 
then , give ye not thanks?

56.71

أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ (71)

Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona

Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out ;

56.72

أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ (72)

Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioona

Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow , or were 
We the grower?

56.73

نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ (73)

Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena

We , even We , appointed it a memorial and a comfort 
for the dwellers in the wilderness .

56.74

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ (74)

Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi

Therefor ( O Muhammad ) , praise the name of thy 
Lord , the Tremendous .

56.75

۞ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ (75)

Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi

Nay , I swear by the places of the stars

56.76

وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ (76)

Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun

And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath , if ye but knew

56.77

إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ (77)

Innahu laquranun kareemun

That ( this ) is indeed a noble quran_en

56.78

فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ (78)

Fee kitabin maknoonin

In a Book kept hidden

56.79

لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ (79)

La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona

Which none toucheth save the purified ,

56.80

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (80)

Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena

A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds .

56.81

أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ (81)

Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona

Is it this Statement that ye scorn ,

56.82

وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ (82)

WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona

And make denial thereof your livelihood?

56.83

فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ (83)

Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma

Why , then , when ( the soul ) cometh up to the 
throat ( of the dying )

56.84

وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ (84)

Waantum heenaithin tanthuroona

And ye are at that moment looking

56.85

وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ (85)

Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona

And We are nearer unto him than ye are , but ye see not

56.86

فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ (86)

Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena

Why then , if ye are not in bondage ( unto Us ) ,

56.87

تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (87)

TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena

Do ye not force it back , if ye are truthful?

56.88

فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ (88)

Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena

Thus if he is of those brought nigh ,

56.89

فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ (89)

Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin

Then breath of life , and plenty , and a Garden of delight

56.90

وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ (90)

Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeni

And if he is of those on the right hand ,

56.91

فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ (91)

Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeni

Then ( the greeting ) "Peace be unto thee" from 
those on the right hand

56.92

وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ (92)

Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena

But if he is of the rejecters , the erring ,

56.93

فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ (93)

Fanuzulun min hameemin

Then the welcome will be boiling water

56.94

وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ (94)

Watasliyatu jaheemin

And roasting at hell fire .

56.95

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ (95)

Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni

Lo! this is certain truth .

56.96

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ (96)

Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi

Therefor ( O Muhammad ) praise the name of thy Lord , the Tremendous .
