99. Az-Zalzalah (1 to 8)
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake, And the earth discharges its burdens, And man says, “What is [wrong] with it?” -…
1 إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
‘ʔiða’ zulzilati ‘l’ʔarḍu zilza’laha’
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake
2 وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا
wa’ʔaxrajati ‘l’ʔarḍu ‘ʔaèqa’laha’
And the earth discharges its burdens
3 وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَنُ مَا لَهَا
waqa’la ‘l’ʔinsanu ma’ laha’
And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?" -
4 يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا
yawmayʔiًinm tuḥad:ièu ‘ʔaxba’raha’
That Day, it will report its news
5 بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا
bi’ʔan:a rab:aka ‘ʔawḥay’ laha’
Because your Lord has commanded it.
6 يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًۭا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَلَهُمْ
yawmayʔiًinm yaṣduru ‘ln:a’su ‘ʔaʃta’tanm’ l:iyuraw’ ‘ʔaʕmalahum
That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.
7 فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًۭا يَرَهُۥ
faman yaʕmal mièqa’la ًar:atin xayranm’ yarahuw
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,
8 وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍۢ شَرًّۭا يَرَهُۥ
waman yaʕmal mièqa’la ًar:atinm ʃar:anm’ yarahuw
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
