दुरभिमान का परिणाम
बर्बरीक भीमसेन का पोता और उनके पुत्र घटोत्कच का पुत्र था| इसकी माता मौवीं थीं, जिसे शस्त्र, शास्त्र तथा बुद्धि द्वारा पराजित कर घटोत्कच ने ब्याहा था| बर्बरीक बड़ा वीर था, इसने एक बार भीमसेन को अत्यंत साधारण युद्ध-कौशल से पराजित कर दिया था|

बादशाह अकबर, उनकी बेगम तथा बीरबल तीनों बाग में बैठे आम खा रहे थे| बादशाह अकबर को मजाक सूझा और वे आम खाकर उसके छिलके व गुठलियां बेगम की तरफ फेंकने लगे|
