कुन्तीपुत्रेषु जातेषु धृतराष्ट्रात्मजेषु च
मद्रराजसुता पाण्डुं रहॊ वचनम अब्रवीत

संकल्प की शक्ति
एक संन्यासी जीवन के रहस्यों को खोजने के लिए कई दिनों तक तपस्या और कठोर साधना में लगे रहे, पर आत्मज्ञान की प्राप्ति नहीं हुई।
सत्यवादी राजा हरिशचंद्र
त्रेता युग में राजा हरिशचंद्र राज्य करते थे| वे इक्ष्वाकु वंशी थे, बाद में श्रीरामचंद्र जी भी इसी वंश में हुए| धर्म में उनकी सच्ची निष्ठा थी और वे परम सत्यवादी थे| उनकी कीर्ति दूर-दूर तक फली हुई थी| उनकी पुरोहित महर्षि वशिष्ठ थे, उनका इंद्र की सभा में आना-जाना था|
मेरो दरद न जाणै कोय
हे री मैं तो प्रेम-दिवानी मेरो दरद न जाणै कोय।
घायल की गति घायल जाणै जो कोई घायल होय।
