Sanjaya said, “Then king Duryodhana, and Sakuni the son of Suvala, andthy son Dussasana, and the invincible Suta’s son (Karna) meetingtogether, consulted in the following way.

“Saunaka said, ‘O son, thou hast narrated to me this extensive and greathistory commencing from the progeny of Bhrigu. O son of Suta, I have beenmuch gratified with thee. I ask thee again, to recite to me, O son of aSuta, the history composed by Vyasa.
भक्त का अहंकार
एक बार देवर्षि नारद ने भगवान विष्णु से पूछा, भगवान आप का सबसे बड़ा भक्त कौन है। भगवान विष्णु नारद के मन की बात समझ गए।
Chapter 247
Duryodhana said, “That slayer of hostile heroes, Arjuna, then approachingChitrasena, smilingly addressed him in these manly words: ‘O hero, Oforemost of the Gandharvas, it behoveth thee to set my brothers atliberty.
कौन अच्छा कौन बुरा
प्राचीन काल में पाटलिपुत्र (वर्तमान पटना) नगर में राजा विक्रमसेन का शासन था| इस प्रतापी राजा के पास ‘विदग्ध चूणामणि’ नाम का एक ऐसा तोता था, जिसे अपने दिव्य ज्ञान से समस्त शास्त्रों का ज्ञान था| वह विलक्षण लक्षणों से युक्त तोता बड़े ही सहज रूप में मनुष्यों की भाषा बोल और समझ लेता था| राजा उस तोते से बहुत प्यार करता था और उसे चूणामणि कहकर संबोधित करता था|
एक व्यक्ति की पसंद
एक व्यक्ति ने सर्वाधिक मूल्यवान एक किलो अंगूर ख़रीद| जब वह जाने लगा, तब दुकानदार ने पैसे माँगे| उसने कहा कि रुपये नहीं है| दुकानदार ने मूल्य को तीन बार कम किया, किन्तु उस व्यक्ति के पास वह भी देने के लिए पैसे न थे| गुस्से से दुकानदार ने पूछा, “जब तुम्हारे पास पैसे न थे, तब तुमने महँगे अंगूर क्यों ख़रीदे?”
