पृथु नामक एक कर्मनिष्ठ ब्राह्मण थे| वे प्रतिदिन संध्या, होम, तर्पण, जप-यज्ञ आदि धार्मिक कार्यों में लगे रहते थे| उन्होंने मन और इन्द्रियों को वश में कर लिया था|
गले में सूजन कोई बीमारी नहीं है| लेकिन जब किन्हीं दूसरी व्याधियों के कारण गला सूज जाता है या लाल पड़ जाता है तो इसे रोग की श्रेणी में माना जाता है|

संत राबिया एक दिन बहुत बीमार हो गईं| एक साधक उनसे मिलने आया| राबिया की हालत देखकर उसे बड़ा दुख हुआ, पर कहे तो क्या कहे|
हाथ, पैरों, टखने या कुहनी आदि में मोच आने पर बाजारू पहलवानों से मलीद आदि नहीं करानी चाहिए| इससे अधिकांशत: नुकसान उठाना पड़ता है| इसका कारण यह है की मोच आने से नस-नाड़ियों के तंतु टूट जाते हैं| ऐसे में कड़ी मालिश से वे अधिक क्षत-विक्षत हो सकते हैं|
