93. Ad-Duhaa (1 to 11)
By the morning brightness, And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], …
wa’lḍ:uḥay’
By the morning brightness
wa’l:ayli ‘ʔiða’ sajay’
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,
ma’ wad:aʕaka rab:uka wama’ qalay’
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you].
walalʔa’xiratu xayrunm l:aka mina ‘l’ʔuwlay’
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].
walasawfa yuʕṭiyka rab:uka fatarḍay’ʔ
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.
‘ʔalam yajidka yatiymanm’ faʔa’way’
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?
wawajadaka ḍa’ʔl:anm’ fahaday’
And He found you lost and guided [you],
wawajadaka ʕa’ʔyʔilanm’ fa’ʔaɣnay’
And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.
fa’ʔam:a’ ‘lyatiyma fala’ taqhar
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].
wa’ʔam:a’ ‘ls:a’ʔyʔila fala’ tanhar
vAnd as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].
wa’ʔam:a’ biniʕmati rab:ika faḥad:iè
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].
