36b. Ya-Sin (51 to 83)
And the trumpet is blown and lo! from the graves they
hie unto their Lord ,…
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ (51)
Wanufikha fee alssoori faitha hum mina alajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloona
And the trumpet is blown and lo! from the graves they hie unto their Lord ,
قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا مَن بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ (52)
Qaloo ya waylana man baAAathana min marqadina hatha ma waAAada alrrahmanu wasadaqa almursaloona
Crying : Woe upon us! Who hath raised us from our place of sleep? This is that which the Beneficent did promise , and the messengers spoke truth ,
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ (53)
In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroona
It is but one Shout , and behold them brought together before Us!
فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (54)
Faalyawma la tuthlamu nafsun shayan wala tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona
This day no soul is wronged in aught ; nor are ye requited aught save what ye used to do .
إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُونَ (55)
Inna ashaba aljannati alyawma fee shughulin fakihoona
Lo! those who merit paradise this day are happily employed ,
هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلَالٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ (56)
Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalin AAala alaraiki muttakioona
They and their wives , in pleasant shade , on thrones reclining ;
لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ (57)
Lahum feeha fakihatun walahum ma yaddaAAoona
Theirs the fruit ( of their good deeds ) and theirs ( all ) that they ask ;
سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ (58)
Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheemin
The word from a Merciful Lord ( for them ) is : Peace!
وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ (59)
Waimtazoo alyawma ayyuha almujrimoona
But avaunt ye , O ye guilty , this day!
۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ (60)
Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adama an la taAAbudoo alshshaytana innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun
Did I not charge you , O ye sons of Adam , that ye worship not the devil Lo! he is your open foe!
وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِي ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ (61)
Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratun mustaqeemun
But that ye worship Me? That was the right path .
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ (62)
Walaqad adalla minkum jibillan katheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloona
Yet he hath led astray of you a great multitude . Had ye then no sense?
هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ (63)
Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntum tooAAadoona
This is hell which ye were promised ( if ye followed him ) .
اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ (64)
Islawha alyawma bima kuntum takfuroona
Burn therein this day for that ye disbelieved .
الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (65)
Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihim watukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanoo yaksiboona
This day We seal up mouths , and hands speak out and feet bear witness as to what they used to earn .
وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ (66)
Walaw nashao latamasna AAala aAAyunihim faistabaqoo alssirata faanna yubsiroona
And had We willed , We verily could have quenched their eyesight so that they should struggle for the way . Then how could they have seen?
وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ (67)
Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoona
And had We willed , We verily could have fixed them in their place , making them powerless to go forward or turn back .
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ (68)
Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkishu fee alkhalqi afala yaAAqiloona
He whom We bring unto old age , We reverse him in creation ( making him go back to weakness after strength ) . Have ye then no sense?
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُّبِينٌ (69)
Wama AAallamnahu alshshiAAra wama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrun waquranun mubeenun
And we have not taught him ( Muhammad ) poetry , nor is it meet for him . This is naught else than a Reminder and a Lecture making plain ,
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ (70)
Liyunthira man kana hayyan wayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireena
To warn whosoever liveth , and that the word may be fulfilled against the disbelievers .
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَامًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ (71)
Awalam yaraw anna khalaqna lahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahum laha malikoona
Have they not seen how We have created for them of Our handiwork the cattle , so that they are their owners ,
وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ (72)
Wathallalnaha lahum faminha rakoobuhum waminha yakuloona
And have subdued them unto them , so that some of them they have for riding , some for food?
وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ (73)
Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibu afala yashkuroona
Benefits and ( divers ) drinks have they from them . Will they not then give thanks?
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ (74)
Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona
And they have taken ( other ) gods beside Allah , in order that they may be helped .
لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُّحْضَرُونَ (75)
La yastateeAAoona nasrahum wahum lahum jundun muhdaroona
It is not in their power to help them ; but they ( the worshippers ) are unto them a host in arms .
فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ (76)
Fala yahzunka qawluhum inna naAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona
So let not their speech grieve thee ( O Muhammad ) . Lo! We know what they conceal and what proclaim .
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ (77)
Awalam yara alinsanu anna khalaqnahu min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenun
Hath not man seen that We have created him from a drop of seed? Yet lo! he is an open opponent .
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ (78)
Wadaraba lana mathalan wanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithama wahiya rameemun
And he hath coined for Us a similitude , and hath forgotten the fact of his creation , saying : Who will revive these bones when they have rotted away?
قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ (79)
Qul yuhyeeha allathee anshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleemun
Say : He will revive them Who produced them at the first , for He is Knower of every creation ,
الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الشَّجَرِ الْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَا أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ (80)
Allathee jaAAala lakum mina alshshajari alakhdari naran faitha antum minhu tooqidoona
Who hath appointed for you fire from the green tree , and behold! ye kindle from it .
أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ (81)
Awalaysa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqa mithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu
Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the like of them? Aye , that He is! for He is the All Wise Creator ,
إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ (82)
Innama amruhu itha arada shayan an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoonu
But His command , when He intendeth a thing , is only that he saith unto it : Be! and it is .
فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ (83)
Fasubhana allathee biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wailayhi turjaAAoona
Therefor glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion over all things! Unto Him ye will be brought back .
