“The lord of treasures said, ‘O Yudhishthira, patience, ability,(appropriate) time and place and prowess–these five lead to success inhuman affairs. O Bharata, in the Krita Yuga, men were patient and able intheir respective occupations and they knew how to display prowess.
“Lomasa said, ‘Here, O king! The lord of born beings himself performed asacrifice in former times,–the ceremony called Ishtikrita, whichoccupied one thousand years.
“Vaisampayana said, ‘Meanwhile, Vasudeva of great energy accompanied bythe Vrishnis, came to the city called after the elephant.

हन्त ते संप्रवक्ष्यामि सर्वं परत्यक्षदर्शिवान
शुश्रूषस्व सथिरॊ भूत्वा तव हय अपनयॊ महान
जब कोई प्राणी परलोक सिधारता है तो उसके नमित रखे ‘श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब’ के पाठ का भोग डालने के पश्चात ‘रामकली राग की सद्द’ का भी पाठ किया जाता है| गुरु-मर्यादा में यह मर्यादा बन गई है| यह सद्द बाबा सुन्दर दास जी की रचना है| सतिगुरु अमरदास जी महाराज जी के ज्योति जोत समाने के समय का वैराग और करुण दृश्य पेश किया गया है|
बादशाह अकबर की अंगूठी गुम हो गई| बादशाह ने बहुत तलाश की किंतु अंगूठी नहीं मिली| उन्होंने इस बात का जिक्र बीरबल से किया तो उसने पूछा – “हुजूर, आपको याद है, आपने अंगूठी कब उतारी थी?”
