“Bhishma said, ‘O lord, repeatedly urged by that maiden to slay Bhishma,Rama replied unto that weeping girl, saying, ‘O daughter of Kasi, O thouof the fairest complexion, I do not, on any account, take up arms nowexcept for the sake of those that are conversant with the Vedas.
वास्तव में दिल की धड़कन कोई रोग नहीं है| किन्तु जब दिल तेजी से धड़कने लगता है तो मनुष्य के शरीर में कमजोरी आ जाती है, माथे पर हल्का पसीना उभर आता है तथा पैर लड़खड़ाने लगते हैं|
“Sanjaya said, ‘Beholding Satwata, invincible in battle coming (towardsArjuna), Bhurisravas, in rage, O king, suddenly advanced towards him.
“Vasudeva said, ‘When Salwa had left the city of the Anarttas, I returnedto it, O king, on the completion of thy great Rajasuya sacrifice!
एक बार राजा पाण्डु अपनी दोनों पत्नियों – कुन्ती तथा माद्री – के साथ आखेट के लिये वन में गये। वहाँ उन्हें एक मृग का मैथुनरत जोड़ा दृष्टिगत हुआ। पाण्डु ने तत्काल अपने बाण से उस मृग को घायल कर दिया। मरते हुये मृग ने पाण्डु को शाप दिया, “राजन! तुम्हारे समान क्रूर पुरुष इस संसार में कोई भी नहीं होगा। तूने मुझे मैथुन के समय बाण मारा है अतः जब कभी भी तू मैथुनरत होगा तेरी मृत्यु हो जायेगी।”

शरुत्वा च विदुरं पराप्तं राज्ञा च परिसान्त्वितम
धृतराट्रात्मजॊ राजा पर्यतप्यत दुर्मतिः
एक बार की बात है एक जिज्ञासु साधक सच्चे आनंद की तलाश में एक महात्मा के पास गया| महात्मा जी से उसने बहुत आग्रह से प्रार्थना की कि वह सच्चे आनंद पर प्रकाश डालें|
“Sanjaya said, ‘Duryodhana, O king, and thy son Sudarsa, the only two ofthy children yet unslain, were at that time in the midst of the (Kaurava)cavalry.
“Vamadeva continued, ‘When the king, who is powerful, acts unrighteouslytowards the weak, they who take their birth in his race imitate the sameconduct.
