पाण्डॊर अवभृथं कृत्वा देवकल्पा महर्षयः
ततॊ मन्त्रम अकुर्वन्त ते समेत्य तपस्विनः

शुद्ध अनाज का असर
महर्षि कणाद परम विरक्त तथा स्वाभिमानी थे। वह फसल की कटाई के बाद खेतों से अन्न के दाने चुनते और उन्हें भगवान को भोग लगाकर प्रसाद के रूप में ग्रहण करते थे।
देवताओं का विरोध
देवराज जानते थे कि दो ऋषियों के बीच हुए विवाद में फंसने से कोई लाभ होने वाला नहीं है| वे दोनों महर्षि के स्वभाव से भी भली-भाति परिचित थे| इंद्र भली-भाति जानते थे कि विश्वामित्र के मन में क्यों वशिष्ठ के प्रति ईर्ष्या का भाव है|
