‘Vaisampayana said, “Hearing these words of Yajnaseni, Bhimasena, sighingin wrath, approached the king and addressed him, saying, ‘Walk, Omonarch, in the customary path trodden by good men, (before thee) inrespect of kingdoms.
“Dhritarashtra said, ‘While mighty Bhimasena was uttering those loudshouts deep as the roar of the clouds or peals of thunder, what heroes(of our side) surrounded him?
प्राचीन काल में एक राजा थे। उनके कोई संतान नहीं थी। अत्याधिक पूजा-अर्चना व मन्नतों के पश्चात दैव योग से उन्हें पुत्र प्राप्ति हुई।

परभातायां तु शर्वर्यां तेषाम अक्लिष्टकर्मणाम
वनं यियासतां विप्रास तस्थुर भिक्षा भुजॊ ऽगरतः
तान उवाच ततॊ राजा कुन्तीपुत्रॊ युधिष्ठिरः
Vaishampayana said, “Having passed one night more, Rama, having theplough for his weapon, worshipped the dwellers of that tirtha and showedhis regard for Mankanaka.
“Yudhishthira said, ‘What, O grandsire, should be the acts and what thebehaviour of persons employed as priests in our sacrifices? What sort ofpersons should they be, O king? Tell me all this, O foremost of speakers.’
“Yudhishthira said, ‘O chief of Bharata’s rare, by whom was the custom ofgiving umbrellas and sandals at obsequial ceremonies introduced?
एक तालाब में तीन मछलियां रहती थीं| उनकी आपस में दोस्ती तो थी लेकिन तीनों का स्वभाव अलग-अलग था|
एक समय की बात है| अचानक ओलों की वर्षा से सारी फसल नष्ट हो गई| कुरू प्रदेश में एक गाँव में हाथीवान रहते थे| इसी गाँव में एक निर्धन ऋषि उशस्ति चाकृायण अपनी पत्नी के साथ रहने लगे| गाँव में कहीं अनाज का दाना नहीं मिला|
