Who is God? What are Personality Traits of God?

God is the basic and ultimate element of the cosmos. It is considered that almighty God prevails everywhere. Each and every pore of the cosmos is pervaded by the cosmic matter. Thus, God is basic and subtle element and is considered as formless. Since, God has created this beautiful universe, God has formed aspect too.

It is clear from the above mentioned lines that God is formless as well as formed too.

God can be defined as-

Unchangeable- who does not change with the time. Which was present earlier, present now and would be present after years even?

Timeless,

Indivisible,

Moral,

 Religious,

All pervasive,

Independent of human ideation

Kindred to and identifiable with organismic consciousness

Perceivable and instantly sharable

Without any pre condition.

It’s important to keep in mind that God is not a feeling or a psychic state built out of intellectual or philosophical musings. He is even not an ethical principle or matter of mere faith, God infect is the existent and objective being who shall always remain even if all the species and material phenomenon of the universe vanish.

Even if we believe in him or not, God does exist in Himself all the time.

God can be known…

It’s not a strange but a real fact that God can be known by us as he tells us about himself and even goes beyond that. God welcomes us into a relationship and provides an opportunity to know him personally. We can not only know about him, but also can know him, intimately.

“Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom

Or the strong men boast of his strength

Or the rich man boasts of his riches,

But let him who boasts boast about this:

That he understands and knows me,

That I am the Lord,

Who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth?

For in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23, 24)

God welcomes, all and sundry:

God’s nature is loving and accepting when we go with him. We need not perform specific rituals and even we neither need to be polite, theoretically correct or holy. God accepts everyone as and in the condition we are. It’s his kind nature to be loving and accepting when we go to him.

“The Lord is near to all who call on him,

To all who call on him in truth.” (Psalms 145:18)

God is creative:

Everything we make is put together with existing materials or built on previous thoughts. God has the capacity of speaking things into existence, not just galaxies and life forms, but solutions to today’s problems. God is creative, for us. His power is something he wants us to be aware of and to rely on.

“Great is our Lord and mighty in power;

His understanding has no limit.” (Psalms 147:5)

“…where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,

The Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalms 121:1, 2)

God is forgiving:

Its rightly being said that- “man gets and forgets, God gives and forgives”

Man’s life is full of sins. God’s way of telling and doing the things are entirely different than the man’s way. Most of the prophets paid for our sins and got died for us. Take for instance of the lord Jesus Christ, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna etc. God does not merely overlook such sins but is prepared to judge and condemn people for their sins. God is forgiving and will forgive us from the moment we begin a relationship with him.

“We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done… We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us.” (Romans 3:22,25)

God is honest too:

He is Honest.

The unfolding of your words gives light;

It gives understanding to the simple.

Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.” (Psalms 119:130,105)

Just like people too let you know the feelings, God also tells about himself. The possible difference being that God is always honest. God provides reliable information. Every promise he makes to us can be fully counted on, we can take him at his word.

He is Capable:

How would you like to be always 100% right, about everything? God is. His wisdom is unlimited. He understands all the elements of a situation, including the history and future events related to it. We do not have to update him, counsel him or persuade him to do the right thing. He will, because he is capable and his motives are pure. If we trust him, he will never make a mistake, never undercut us or deceive us. He can be fully trusted to do what is right, in all circumstances, at all times.

“No one whose hope is in you

Will ever be put to shame…” (Psalms 25:3)
